Grand Slam Camp in the News!

 

Federal Way Mirror 1998:

"More than 120 young baseball palyers picked up some of the finer points of the game at the Grand Slam Baseball Camp held at the Federal Way National Little League Complex last week. The players cheer as one of their fellow campers scores during a drill on tagging from third on fly balls. Parker Herbert makes a spectacular catch near teh fence during another drill."

 

Seattle Times Wiz of Coast 2001:

"Acting like major-league All-Stars yesterday at Safeco Field, Antheny Melillo, 9, peeks around an over-sized baseball card to watch a promotional video being filmed, while Hunter Johnson, 9, plays the role of New York Mets catcher Mike Piazza. The boys jumped at the chance to be in the video for Wizards of the Coast, the Renton-based unit of Hasbro that develops trading-card and role-playing games. The company will be promoting its games at the All-Star FanFest next month. The boys were invited to appear in the video by Grand Slam Baseball Camps..."

 

Peninsula Gateway 2001:

"Summertime means camp. This past week future baseball players from 7 to 12 years of age attended Grand Slam Baseball Camp at Purdy Elementary's baseball field. This is the first year the camp has been on the Peninsula said Dave Walker, head coach. 45 youngsters participated in the morning session and 25 in the afternoon."
